Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager is a key team player within Steppenwolf’s general management team Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Facilities Manager is charged with maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our audience, artist and staff.  This position is integral in ensuring that our buildings are compliant with city and municipal codes, managing and maintaining all equipment inspections, and ensuring all safety and security guidelines and procedures. The Facilities Manager supervises 2 full time employees and 1 to 2 part time staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

·         Ensures that daily maintenance requests are being responded to quickly

·         Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly

·         Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees

·         Is responsible for scheduling all required test and inspections

·         Works collaboratively with the Food and Beverage, FOH, Events and Development teams

·         Acts as liaison between departments across a number of activities and projects

·         Project Management of various small construction/renovation projects

·         Coordinating and executing snow removal across campus

·         Ensures the management/coordination of all garbage and recycling pickups across campus (5-7 dumpsters) and the occasional roll off container.

·         Acting as the on-call Facilities staff member for organizational emergencies

·         All other duties as assigned by Director of Operations

·         Have demonstrated success in managing and leading a team with various job skills and functions.

·         Have a proactive approach to maintaining the properties on campus

·         Strong initiative in increasing efficiencies and procedures for the department.

·         Applicant should be skilled with the Microsoft Office suite.

Compensation:

Salary range: $40-45k (exempt) with excellent benefit package for full time employees, including medical, dental, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, vacation pay, paid sick time, personal days, Ventra transit benefit program, employee assistance program and 401(k) matching retirement program.
