The Box Office Manager oversees ticketing operations and front-of-house coordination for The Village Theater’s productions. This role helps ensure a smooth and welcoming audience experience by managing ticket sales and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage ticketing setup and sales for productions and events.
  • Maintain and update the company’s ticketing platform, including show listings, pricing, and availability.
  • Track ticket sales and provide basic sales reports to leadership as needed.
  • Coordinate box office operations during performances, including will-call and walk-up sales.
  • Recruit, schedule, and support box office volunteers when needed.
  • Communicate with patrons regarding ticket questions, exchanges, and general inquiries.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure ticketing information is accurate and accessible across platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and comfort managing records and transactions.
  • Ability to remain calm and helpful in fast-paced performance environments.
  • Comfortable learning and using digital ticketing platforms and spreadsheets.
  • Prior box office, hospitality, or customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Time Commitment:
Approximately 3–5 hours per week during pre-production and marketing periods, with additional availability during performance runs.

Specific times and dates are as follows:

July 24-August 8: Fridays 7-10pm, Saturdays 2-5pm, 7-10pm, Sundays 2-5pm

Nov 12- Nov 23: Fridays 7-10:30pm, Saturdays 7-10:30pm, Sundays 2-5:30pm

This is a volunteer position ideal for someone who enjoys organization, customer service, and supporting the audience experience. The Box Office Manager plays an important role in connecting the company’s work with its patrons and ensuring performances run smoothly from the moment audiences arrive.
