Governors State University’s Theatre and Performance Studies program is seeking a stage manager for its upcoming fall production of Caryl Churchill’s Cloud 9. Auditions will take place in mid-September with rehearsals beginning shortly thereafter and will take place on GSU’s campus in Chicago’s south suburbs (University Park, Illinois) during some weekday evenings and Saturdays. Production dates are the weekend of November 3-6, 2022.

The person in this position will work closely with the director and production manager in the facilitation of traditional stage management responsibilities, such as attending auditions and all rehearsals; setting up and breaking down the rehearsal space; notating blocking and keeping a promptbook; taking and sharing notes as per the director; working with the director to create daily rehearsal calls; providing rehearsal reports; running rehearsals in the absence of the director; assuring performers and crew are on site when needed; calling the show during technical rehearsals and performances; organizing and running strike; and collaborating with the production manager in the creation and implementation of a tech week schedule and the collection and archiving of forms and information from cast and crew.
