Windy City Playhouse seeks to add new members to our bartending team. This fun-loving and outgoing individual will be a key member of our Front of House team for our current production of The Boys In The Band at Windy City Playhouse located at 3014 W Irving Park Rd. This is a fast paced position that requires quick thinking and attention to detail. Ideal candidates will also have interest in double-training as House Manager to fill in as needed.

This role requires someone who says “yes,” values excellent customer service, and is willing to go above-and-beyond.The bartender plays a crucial role in the execution of the audience experience that goes hand in hand with our brand of immersive theater.
Bartenders report to the Audience Services Manager
Set up bar area
Make sure liquor shelves and fridges are full stocked and ready for service
Prep all necessary garnishes
Present a clean and well organized work station
Set up on-stage bar area, make sure bar is fully stocked and ready for show service
Prepare on-stage cocktails and snacks
Serve and attend to patrons during pre-show
Serve the onstage drinks
Serve and attend to patrons post-show
Clean up and close down bar area at the end of the night
Experience, Skills, Attributes:
-At least 1 year of bar experience
-Genuine lover of theater and its patronage
-Must be comfortable entering the theater during the show
-Excellent people skills
-”Go with the flow” attitude
-Ability to follow set policies & procedures
-Great sense of humor
Windy City Playhouse
The Playhouse is a nonprofit, professional theater on Chicago’s northwest side. Its mission is to engage a new generation of theater audiences through contemporary, relevant, and approachable art. In its short history (the theater opened its doors in March of 2015) the Playhouse has become known for offering highly unique viewing experiences and providing stellar customer service. “Experience-driven, audience first.”
We are in production Wednesday-Sunday and currently produce 7 shows a week. Bar schedule varies depending on the day of the week, but it is mostly nights and weekends with matinee availability on Saturdays and Sundays. Dependent on the shift, expect to work anywhere between 4-5 hours.
Flat fee of $100/per show worked, plus any tips received.
