The Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts is looking for a Stage Manager for the first of our upcoming MFA Collaboration Projects, Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. The MFA Collab Projects match theatre directors from Northwestern’s MFA program with designers from the MFA program in stage design to create exciting and unexpected collaborations. The cast and crew are undergraduate students from the Northwestern community.
The show will be in the Wallis Theater at the Wirtz Center, with performances from January 31st to February 2nd. Rehearsals begin November 19th, with a break from December 7th to January 5th for Winter recess, and resume on January 6th. Tech begins on January 24th. The majority of rehearsals take place in the Wallis Theater.
This Non-equity position will require some amount of mentorship due to the Wirtz Center’s relationship with the graduate and undergraduate community of Northwestern.
Duties and responsibilities include: coordinating daily rehearsal schedules with the director within University policies, distributing daily rehearsal calls and reports, recording and distributing notes at weekly production meetings, preparing the rehearsal room before and after each rehearsal, overseeing an undergraduate ASM, managing undergraduate crew with the help of ASM and a Run Crew Head, and communicating needs and changes to production team.
Rehearsals are weekday nights and some weekends.
