Assistant Stage Manager

The Young People’s Theatre of Chicago (YPT) seeks an Assistant Stage Manager for its upcoming family holiday production, A Year with Frog and Toad.

YPT is the professional Theatre For Young Audiences company in-residence at The Greenhouse Theater Center. With nearly 15,000 audience members – families and students alike – projected to come through our doors this season, we’re excited to be ringing in the holidays amongst good company!

A Year With Frog and Toad is a jazzy, upbeat, Tony-nominated musical where Arnold Lobel’s beloved amphibians jump from page to stage: whether baking cookies, planting a garden, flying kites, or celebrating the holidays in style, Frog and Toad discover that life is more fun when it’s shared with a friend! Run time is 75 minutes, featuring a cast of five professional actors (alongside three understudies).

SCHEDULE

The candidate should have daytime availability from Nov 22 through Dec 21.  Tech rehearsals are Nov 22 — Nov 28 (Thanksgiving day off) from 9:30am – 3:00pm (Nov 22 to 5:00pm). Weekend showtimes are 11am on Saturdays, and 11am / 1:30pm on Sundays. Weekday student matinees are Tuesday through Friday at 10am (with an additional 12:30pm show on Friday, Dec 12).

There is a $1000 stipend for this position.
